Contests

One player had a perfect card last week in Coast's Pick the Pros contest, which means he scooped the entire $30,000 prize. There have been two perfect cards and two one-loss cards over the first four weeks. This contest is easy to play; just swipe your players card at a kiosk to get three free entries.

At Stations' Great Giveaway, 13-1 took honors in both the "Most Wins" and "Most Losses" categories

With no winners in the Lucky's contest for the fourth week in a row, the carryover makes the prize $22,035 for getting a perfect card this week. The contest's pick-all format makes these carryovers unimportant, as the prize is far too low to justify the $5 fee to play.

Following Fezzik

Fezzik went 3-2 last week in the Hilton SuperContest, bringing his record there to 10-9-1. Fezzik's records in the major contests appear below (with last week's results in parentheses).

Last Chance for Annual Rate

This Friday is the last day to get the annual-rate discount for the LVASports message boards. You can lock in a full year for $199 until about noon tomorrow. After that, we will offer only the monthly rate of $24.95.

Reduced Juice Tonight

Don't forget the LV Hilton offers promotional -105 pricing tonight for both NFL and college games from 3 to 11 p.m. It's the only book we know of doing that this year.

MNF at the Strip Clubs

We hit another group of strip club Monday Night Football parties this week. Crowds are down and so is quality in almost all of them. Here are the grades of those we've dropped into so far (last year's grades are in parentheses).

Treasures comes in strong again this year, especially if you want to eat. There's a free buffet there that absolutely destroys the others for quality. It has the usual, hot dogs and pizza; but there're also hot pretzels, sliders, potato skins, chili, several different salads, and fresh fruit. Domestic beers and well drinks are a buck till 6 p.m., then it's 2-for-1 drinks for the rest of the game. Sapphire is running the same deal as last year. There's a $20 admission fee for everyone (including locals), but that gets you three drinks and unlimited food from an Italian buffet catered by Milano's. The drinks include premium beers and liquor. OG is still decent, though not nearly as busy as last year. It's free to enter, and when you buy a beer for $3.50, you get a food ticket for good pizza and wings from the nearby Boston Pizza. There's almost nothing going on at Cheetah's (two beers for $9), though they were serving free pizza and wings. Cheetah's is again offering deals during college football games on Saturdays (a pitcher of beer and four shots for $20). Off quite a ways from last year is the party at Club Paradise, although the deal is decent with $3 beers and a free buffet that features sloppy Joes. There's also $10 lap dances all game. Most of the parties have lap dance specials, including dollar dances at halftime at Sapphire, OG, and Seamless. After checking out an even dozen, Treasures is the best party for food; Rick's is best for drinks (see the Oct. 1 Update). Rick's gets the grade nod because there's no charge for out-of-towners, whereas it's officially $20 for non-locals at Treasures, though they don't appear to enforce it strictly.

Playboy Party

Here's a good one. The Playboy Club at the Palms is hosting MNF parties for selected big games this year, including this Monday's Jets/Vikings contest. Get free entry into the club during the game and happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers. The free entry alone saves $20.

Best MNF Parties

To date, here's the good and bad.

Good: Sam's Town (free dog or hot dog & beer; Suncoast (free dog & beer); South Point ($1 dogs, all-u-can-drink $15, cash drawings); Palazzo - Lagasse's Stadium (the Gucci standard for MNF parties); M Resort ($2 beers); Aria - Union lounge (half-price drinks and appetizers); any Station or Fiesta sports book ($1 drafts and dogs).

Bad: Silverton, Sunset Station (Club Madrid), Cannery, Rampart, Sahara (NASCAR Café), PBR, Rockhouse, McFadden's, and Palms.
