The Las Vegas Football Update is a weekly feature posted at LVASports. Updates provide information as we discover it about events and happenings at casinos and bars around Las Vegas.

Contests

Nine players went 13-0 last week to split the prize in the Coast's Pick the Pros contest. One player won the $10,000 first prize (based on the tie-breaker), while the other eight got $2,500 apiece. This contest is free to enter every week. In Station's Great Giveaway, only one player went 13-0 and three were 0-13. There remain five players left in the Last Man Standing pro contest. With no winners in the Lucky's contest yet this year, the carryover makes the prize $44,465 for getting a perfect card this week.

Cantor at Cosmo

Cantor Gaming will build and operate the sports book at the new Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The casino will open December 15; however, the sports book is not expected to be operating until some time in the first quarter of 2011. This will put Cantor in charge of the books at Cosmo, M Resort, Hard Rock, and Tropicana.

Following Fezzik

A little ground was gained this week with 3-2s across the board. Fezzik's records in the major contests appear below (with last week's results in parentheses).

Not all dollar hot dogs are created equal-not even when they're part of the same promotion. Station and Fiesta sports books sell $1 hot dogs and beers Saturday through Monday during the games, but we've found some are better than others, due to the available condiments. The best is at Palace Station, where you can top your dog with kraut and onions at no extra charge (most are limited to mustard, ketchup, and relish.

Best MNF Parties

Following are the best options we've found for Monday Night Football parties.

Good: Sam's Town (free dog or hot dog & beer; Suncoast (free dog & beer); South Point ($1 dogs, all-u-can-drink $15, cash drawings); Palazzo - Lagasse's Stadium (the Gucci standard for MNF parties); M Resort ($2 beers); Aria - Union lounge (half-price drinks and appetizers); any Station or Fiesta sports book ($1 drafts and dogs); Playboy Club; the Sporting House at New York-New-York.
