These books are have been chosen because they take big limits, offer lines that contain standard or less juice, and generally treat winning players fairlyall important consideration for serious players.
However, the majority of the players look for other things in a sports book, often entertainment-related factors such as comfort, viewing, good drink comps, etc. Since these things tend to be subjective, we ran an online poll in August asking participants to pick their favorite sports book. The top three finishers in the poll, which garnered almost 1,000 votes, were the Las Vegas Hilton (18%), Caesars Palace (16%), and Orleans and Mirage (tied with 6% each). Surprisingly low finishes were registered by the Wynn (2%) and Palms (1%).
Note that only the Las Vegas Hilton’s SuperBook is on both the LVASports and the public’s (voting) list. Conceived by Art Manteris (now at Station) and currently guided by the apt hand of Jay Kornegay, the SuperBook distinguishes itself by taking big action, running half-juice days during football season, hosting big Sunday viewing parties, and being the Las Vegas leader in prop bets for big games. That’s the Hilton book on this issue’s cover.
